Ex-Chelsea striker jailed for assault

Former Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon is set for an agonising nine months behind bars after being found guilty of assault in court on Friday.
As reported on Daily Star, the former England international was sentenced at Luton Crown Court today after assaulting a man in a pub.
The 53-year-old had denied assaulting Ben Scoble at the Nags Head pub in Dunstable in May 2014.
Dixon was found guilty of punching and kicking the man after he was said to have called him "fatso."

Judge Barbara Mensah said the attack was "shocking and sickening to watch".
In court Dixon claimed he had feared that he would be attacked by Mr Scoble and struck out in a pre-emptive strike.
Dixon had a previous conviction of driving with excess alcohol in 2000 and had been cautioned for common assault in 2002.
